Health and Nutrition Education

The people in this panchayats are suffering from different sickness and malnutrition disorders due to poverty, lack of food, low production, forest degradation and lack of education. the staff are visiting and organizing meetings and imparted health and nutrition education on common disease like fever, scabies, worms, infestation, diarrhea, pre and post natal care, u/5, care sanitation, personal hygiene, village cleaning, culinary guide, vitamin deficiency. the staff made house visits in all the 20 villages.


Native Doctors Training

The staff identified 20 native doctors and established a report programme. two training programmes were organized for 20 native doctors for there days on the availability of medicinal plants and disappearance of the herbs. the practice of the native doctors on indigenous medicines was also documented. the native doctors shared on the problems of medicine availability, duration of practice, collection and preservation procedures, problems during the time of treatment information regarding herbal medicine, available medicines and herbals gardens. these doctors were motivated to continue to practice the native medicines and encouraged to protect the herbal plants, raise herbal gardens. Two persons were also invited to speak on intellectual property rights.

Traditional Birth Attenuations

In all the 20 villages the TBAs were identified, these are the women who practice in conducting the delivery system, they visit to door to door and identify the pregnant women and sick children. The staff organized for 20 TBAs from 20 village training on Hygiene, safe delivery systems, and TBAa from 20 village training on Hygiene, safe delivery systems, and TBA kits, They were also educated n nutrition for mother and child and pregnant women.

Herbal Garden

One Herbal garden was prepared in one village and collected various indigenous plants from locally. the previous herbal garden was followed up.

Mobile Health Programme

Mobile health clinic visits every month for a week to the operation area. a team of people a nurse, health assistant communication coordination, panchayats staff and health cadres will visit to the villages. During the last six months the team selected 4 new village to conduct the programme, during their visit they imparted the health and nutrition education basing on the days problem. They screened the families and treat patients. They also educate the people on government health facilities, and ICDS programme. They encourage the parent to take up kitchen garden programme at the back yard. they also identify the pre and post natal through TBAs and administer the team also demonstrated ORS solution at the community meetings. During the last six months the mobile health team screened and treated, 123 male and 104 female, totally 227 people were screened.

U/5 Clinic and Nutrition

There was a high rate of Mortality among children in this area where the project is working. to check this the under five clinic extended to the new villages of Gangarajpur panchayat. Two clinics were organized once in a month and children were screened. children were given with supplement of vitamins and education was imparted to patens on feeding of children balanced diet and preparation of food. The mobile health team screened 160 under face children (81 Male+79 Female)
